Content rules
Draft. These rules describe how AuctorPlay is meant to work. They have not been reviewed by a lawyer yet and will be before launch.
AuctorPlay games and apps are made by children and adults, and played mostly by children. So the rules are strict, and a person looks at everything before it appears in the store.
What may be shared
- Games and apps that are fun, creative and safe for everyone who might play them.
- Your own work, or work you have permission to use (pictures, sounds, ideas). If you are not sure, make your own.
What may not be shared
- Anything violent, scary, sexual, hateful, or that makes fun of or bullies people.
- Real names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, school names, web addresses, social media names, or photos of real people. Please do not put any of them in a game.
- Anything that tries to get players to contact someone, buy something, or visit another site.
- Other people's work without permission, including characters, music and pictures from other games and shows.
- Anything meant to harm a device or cheat the rules of the store.
How it works
- Testing. You can share a game with up to ten friends with a private code. It is not listed in the store, it is marked "not reviewed", and it can still be taken down.
- Review. To list a game in the store, you send it for review. Computers check the file and look for things like addresses and phone numbers. Then a person plays and reads it. You hear back by e-mail (to your parent, if you are a child).
- Reports. Every game page has a Report button. Several reports about safety or personal information hide a game until a person has looked at it.
- Take-down. A game that breaks the rules is taken out of the store, and devices remove it the next time they check. You are told why. A creator who keeps breaking the rules can be stopped from publishing.
Young creators
Under 13, a parent must approve the account and receives the notices about the games. Nothing a child makes is public without a review, and children's games never show their names: only the username they picked, which should not be their real name.
If you see something that is not right, press Report on the game's page, or write to us from the Support page.
