Copyright and takedown
Draft. This page is a plain-language outline of the process. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and the designated contact below must be filled in and registered before launch.
AuctorLabs LLC respects the rights of people who make things. If you believe a game or app in the AuctorPlay store uses your work without permission, you can ask us to take it down.
How to tell us
Press Report on the game's page and choose "copyright", or write to the contact below. Please include:
- what your work is, and where we can see it (a link, or a description);
- which game or app you mean (its page address);
- your name and a way to reach you;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not allowed by you, the owner, or the law, and that what you say is accurate.
Contact for copyright notices: to be published here before launch (name, postal address, e-mail, and the agent registered with the US Copyright Office).
What happens next
- A person reads the notice. If it is clear, the game is taken out of the store, and devices remove it the next time they check.
- The creator (or the creator's parent) is told what was reported and why the game was taken down.
- If the creator believes it was a mistake, they can answer with a counter-notice explaining why. We will tell you, and unless you tell us you have started legal action, the game may be put back after a short wait, as the law describes.
- A creator who repeatedly uses other people's work can lose the ability to publish.
Please send honest notices only: knowingly false claims can have legal consequences.
