Help
I forgot the parent PIN
When the board starts it shows the AuctorPlay logo for about two seconds. In that time, hold both buttons for a second, then press the right button to reset. This clears the PIN and the WiFi, switches every app back on and starts the setup wizard again. (Pressing the knob, or holding one button alone, skips the logo and the tune. Holding the left button while the board is switched on puts it into programming mode instead.)
The screen is dark
Press any button: the first press only wakes it. If it stays dark, it may be in the deep sleep of Power off: hold the knob or the right button for about a second. If the battery is flat, plug it into USB.
An install code does not work
- The board says Check the code: a letter or number is wrong. The code never has the letters I, L, O or U; I and L are read as 1 and O as 0.
- That code did not work: it may belong to another board (a code works on one board only), it may be wrong, or the app may have been withdrawn. Get a new code on the store.
- Could not reach the store or No WiFi: a parent has to set up the WiFi in Parent controls, and the board must be near the router.
- Too many tries: wait a few minutes.
Two boards do not find each other
Both boards must be running the same version of the software (Menu > Install an app > Update the device). A game for two boards must be installed on both. Boards in a game or a chat room cannot use WiFi at the same time, and the radio works best within a few metres.
A board does not start
Try holding the right button for a second (power off wakes that way). If it keeps restarting, put the software on it again from the flash page, with Erase everything first ticked.
Flashing a board
The flash page puts the current development software on a board from a Chromium browser. If the board is not found, unplug it, hold the BOOT button while plugging it in, and try again.
